ball hockey goalie training

Ball hockey goalie – Quick tip #1 – How to get back to the post quicker

Many ball hockey goalies use technique from ice hockey, but sometimes it might slow them down. If you work on ball hockey foot movement, you will become quicker and more efficient in the net. Ball hockey goalies have to remember that they have to train “movement memory”, which means to repeat the same pattern at least 100 times during a practice and without any shots. After learning the proper movement, controlled shots can be introduced. Players have to shoot the ball at the same spot and goalie recovery must be executed after every shot. In this case it will look as described bellow.
Goalie starts in the middle of the net and steps out to the top of the goalie crease. Player takes the shot at the blocker side. Goalie makes the save and sends the ball to the corner. Goalie moves to the the proper post with proper foot movement. This has to be repeated many times to coded into subconscious mind.
